The papers of sculptor and art instructor, Hermon Atkins MacNeil, measure 3.3 linear feet and date from 1885-1947. Included are biographical material, correspondence, photographs, works of art, writings, and printed material. Biographical material includes a resume and art school report cards. Correspondence consists of several postcards and greeting cards. Photographs are of MacNeil, his family, friends, models, studio and sculpture, and of other sculptor's work including his wife, Carol Brooks MacNeil. Artwork includes sketchbooks with notes and sketches includinga a sketch by James Coughlin. Writings include a handwritten book regarding Henri Michel Chapu annotated by MacNeil. Printed material conists of clippings and exhibition catalogs.
